It’s a shame. The Varsity was the best venue in town with the best stage, lights, sound system, acoustics, and sound man in town. I saw so many great shows there, and played a more than a few myself.

The Bayou burned in 2002. I think it's a pizza place now.

Show has been rescheduled and relocated to Basin. July 19th, a Monday night. That'll be a cricket fest.

I guess the texas club is going to have to step up their game and book parish county line at least 3 times a month there.

The inside of the Texas Club is a great venue, I saw Coheed there and you have so much free space.. it's just the worst location on the planet to book touring bands

Very sad. I saw All Them Witches there a few years back.

Republic is roughly the same size as One Eyed Jacks, hopefully they pick up the torch and book more touring rock bands like Jacks...

I'm sure a new venue will eventually show up sooner or later as more stuff starts to open up

My favorite nola venue for a concert is definitely the Orpheum. I don’t think they’ve reopened. I haven’t heard anything about the Joy yet. I know House of Blues and Fillmore are reopening and Maple Leaf, Howling Wolf, and Tips already have.

I hope Broadside keeps getting good shows which the weather cooperates for.

They don't exactly book the greatest bands, but I like Southport Hall.. parking is easy, alcohol is cheaper lol

That’s going to be awesome once they start pulling in good shows again. I can crawl back to my apt from Joy and Orpheum

I’ve heard rumors that the landlord sold the Southport property to a developer who wants to tear it down for a climate controlled storage unit facility, so they may not be open much longer. Just a rumor though, that I heard from some Metairie music venue owners

Southport? Wouldn't be shocked if it was sold.. it was cool to go see a punk show or two there, it felt much safer than the High Ground, which I was afraid the floor was about to crash every time I went

I think it was pandemic plus the grind of the bar business... a couple of the owners live in SoCal so he did it all really... Im pretty sure he's going to hold on to the name and maybe book some shows through that...

I believe its going to open up as a Jazz Club, with the name of something it was in a previous life... I wanna say the Pres Hall people are doing it, but I could be making that part up, I was kinda in the cups when I was told...
