I dont know if it's hipster or not, but its definitely gone mainstream (indie folk)...

It's noy my cup of tea and on its own, Its not bad music... but If I have to hear that Lumineers song one more time I may go crazy... Same goes for that Of Monsters and Men song..

Not huge fan myself, but thier appeal seems to be live performances. I have seen several(on tv) and the crowd looks to react as their set/song builds. But to me it appears thats all they got. Which would be good for a festival for a song or 2 but not an entire set in a place like HOB. I can understand why they have a large following. looks fun if thats your thing. And...

has to be sarcasm right? no board is more pretentious and close minded than music board (food board close). "you don't like my band, you are an idiot. I don't like this band, they suck"

Same goes for that Of Monsters and Men song..

Duel at dawn! I friggin' love Of Monsters and Men's first album. Is it over played? I don't listen to the radio so I honestly don't know.

There are about a billion indie folk bands right now. Mumford and Sons is the one that happened to get big. Good on them. They weren't my favorite of the genre, but they are a good representative for that scene. Their songs are catchy. Would I prefer if it was Deer Tick? Sure. But life isn't fair.

Maybe Darius Rucker should take one of their songs and make it "better".

Odd to see all the hate in here when we just had a 5 page thread about people excited to see them in New Orleans

Little Talks is definitely overplayed. I really like Dirty Paws though.

I enjoy Mumford. I have a few friends that enjoy them waaaaaaaaaayyy more than I do. My beef with them is the redundancy. They are really going to have to mix it up or something for their next album.

I rarely listen to the radio and am in somewhat of a rut on Sirius. Compared to most everything else that I hear that's current, these guys are pretty special. Really surprised I see the hate here that I do.

same here. I don't listen to the radio so I can't really tell if it's overplayed or not. I know a lot of my friends like them, which is fine since a lot of them generally have what I would consider shitty tastes in music. I like them, don't love them.

When I'm subjected to Hits 1, a Mumford and Sons song is sweet relief.

If Mumford and Sons wasn't around who would Phillip Phillips mimic?
