Well I apologize for talking bad about the guy who steals shoots at people on purpose and then brags about it in a song.

Literally the only two words on that list that Morgan sings about is drinking and small town.

have breaking news for you. Most artist talk about drinking at some point.

Yall have just confirmed to me that you don’t actually listen to 90% of Morgan Wallen’s music.

I listen to exactly 0% of his music. But i can guarantee you that one of the buzzwords i mentioned is in 99% of all current country music.

I LOATHE country music. Older stuff, don't hate as much and there's a couple i even liked. But anything recent in teh past 10-15 years i absolutely loathe. A bunch of whiny arse bitching and moaning, or completely fabricated songs that target a specific audience.

I don't necessarily think listener's of country music are bad people. I have friends and family that listen to it. I, personally, despise it.

I'm more of a 90's grunge era/metal type.

80% of adults aged 18 and older living in households earning $100,000 or more say they drink.

The ones that live in households that don’t earn 100k or more are getting High off of something cheaper

He covered graveyard whistling. I think you’ll love that.

He actually wanted to be a rock and roll artist they wouldn’t take him as one

His music is derivative tripe for the lowest common denominator. People who genuinely like his music are likely to forget to breathe at times.

No, I just have grooves in my brain unlike his fanbase.

Elvis died on pills, Whitley drank himself to death, most of the rock and roll legends did cocaine

Holy crap. Are you really comparing Morgan Wallen to Elvis Pressley and Keith Whitley?

like what’s your point dick head?

My point is that while his songs may be popular, they are not good songs. I've said it so many times already, I don't see how you aren't getting the message.

You said Morgan was white trash. Literally half the greats were white trash. What does that have to do with his music?

And yes I’m comparing him to Whitley. He literally has a song called “Keith Whitley” he admires and uses Whitley style.

If you like Keith Whitley you basically have to like Morgan as their music is nearly identical lyrically

First...I don't remember any 808 Hi-Hats in the background of any of Keith Whitley's songs. So, I don't think they are equivalent musically.

Maybe I'm missing something. What is the Morgan Wallen equivalent to I'm No Stranger to the Rain, or I'm Over You(Lyrically)?

He went to Gibbs...he's just the next iteration of Kenny Chesney.

So...all I have to do is name my next song "Jimi Hendrix"?

Keith Whitley didn’t even write that song by the way. Which Morgan doesn’t write all of his either.

But lyrically there are a bunch of songs that he sings that are beautiful. The problem is the general pop only hears “last night” “cowgirls” etc so you think that’s him but it isn’t.

I’m comparing them lyrically brother. Keith Whitley was known for writing about a woman that drove him into drinking himself to death.

Quitting Time by Morgan Wallen
Puttin' in that overtime and comin' up with nothin'
Sure as hell ain't for lack of tryin'
There's no use wastin' time in fightin' for somethin'
When you see that white flag a flyin'
Can you hear that whistle blow?
There's all day thinkin' time
And all night drinkin' time
And time to sing and time to find if
Rhyme has a reason
Time to pack it in and stay down
Pack it up and walk away now
Give it one more day or call it a season
I can tell by the tears not in your eyes
It's quittin' time
There's somethin' to be said for sayin' what needs sayin'
A suitcase says it all to me
Before the credits roll, just know I always loved you
So we wrote that famous final scene
And where you turn and walk out on me
There's all day thinkin' time
And all night drinkin' time
And time to sing and time to find if
Rhyme has a reason
Time to pack it in and stay down
Pack it up and walk away now
Give it one more day or call it a season
I can tell by the tears not in your eyes
It's quittin' time
It's quittin' time
Every start has an end
Every first has a last
Every now has a then
Every future has a past
And sometimes you want it back
There's all day thinkin' time
And all night drinkin' time
And time to sing and time to find if
Rhyme has a reason
Time to pack it in and stay down
Pack it up and walk away now
Give it one more day or call it a season
I can tell by the tears not in your eyes
It's quittin' time
It's quittin' time

Keith Whitley by Morgan Wallen
I'm no stranger to the rain
It starts rainin', I start pourin'
I'll take hurt like hell in the mornin'
Over feelin' this way
There ain't a mirror in this house anymore
'Cause it kills me to see the guy that let you leave
And walk right out the door
Kentucky Bluebird, Kentucky bourbon
Sure got this ol' boy hurtin' in Tennessee
Good whiskey
Girl, it just don't last when Keith Whitley
Keeps bringin' you up like that
Gets me drinkin' 'bout us and what it was
The things I love got a way of gettin' gone too soon
Kinda like good whiskey, Keith Whitley and you
I hate the way you said nothin' at all
I guess you said what you had to say
But what's killin' me tonight
Is when he's lovin' on you, baby, you don't close your eyes
Good whiskey
Girl, it just don't last when Keith Whitley
Keeps bringin' you up like that
Gets me drinkin' 'bout us and what it was
The things I love got a way of gettin' gone too soon
Kinda like good whiskey, Keith Whitley and you
Miami, my Amy
You sure got this ol' boy hurtin' up here in Tennessee
Good whiskey
Girl, it just don't last when Keith Whitley
Keeps bringin' you up like that
Gets me drinkin' 'bout us and what it was
The things I love got a way of gettin' gone too soon
Kinda like good whiskey, Keith Whitley and you

Born with a beer in my hand

Granddaddy drank Henny, and daddy drank Light
I can turn any day to Saturday night, if I want to
And most the time I want to
I can still paint a picture of a hemlock view
My mountains had smoke, but the ones that were blue that we'd buy then
Were the ones that I spent a little more time in
Between the hangovers and the handcuffs
It's been a minute since I had one in my hand, "cause
Everybody says it's gonna be the death of me
But these days I'm livin' on the side of alive
Just 'cause I smile through my sobriety
Don't mean it ain't chillin' in the back of my mind
I ain't sayin' I swore it off for good
I'm just sayin' I'm doin' the best I can
But what do you expect from a redneck
Hell, I was born with a beer in my hand
When I was puttin' 'em down, they put me through hell
Put some scars off on some trucks, myself as well
But if I never did put that can to my mouth
I wouldn't have nothin' I can sing about
Yeah, everybody says it's gonna be the death of me
But these days I'm livin' on the side of alive
Just 'cause I smile through my sobriety
Don't mean it ain't chillin' in the back of my mind
I ain't sayin' I swore it off for good
I'm just sayin' I'm doin' the best I can
But what do you expect from a redneck
Hell, I was born with a beer in my hand
Ah, yeah, I was born with a beer in my hand
Woah, I ain't the devil that I acted like years ago
No, but I'll be back one day y'all even though
Everybody says it's gonna be the death of me
But these days I'm livin' on the side of alive
Just 'cause I smile through my sobriety
Don't mean it ain't chillin' in the back of my mind
I ain't sayin' I swore it off for good
I'm just sayin' I'm doin' the best I can
But what do you expect from a redneck
Hell, I was born with a beer in my hand
Ah, yeah, I was born with a beer in my hand
Born with a beer in my hand
