There are only 2 tiers in Jambands.

Tier 1 - Grateful Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic

Tier 2 - The rest because they all suck.

Allman Brothers ain't a Jamband.

GTFO. There's already a jamband tier thread.

Not sure if serious.

I like those MM tiers, but I'd probably only put Lonesome Crowded West and Moon & Antarctica in tier 1. Those are their only 2 I consider near perfect albums where I like every song.

And I even like a couple of songs on We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, but agree it's a pretty horrible record save for those couple of songs(Spitting Venom, Missed the Boat)

Fair enough.

Spitting Venom is a pretty damn good song IMHO.

That's me as well. I haven't been to a show there yet, but from what I understand, a balcony ticket gives you access to the floor as well.

I don't know that this is really an issue. Just get there whenever you want. Doors at 7, opening band at ~8.

Probably my favorite Modest Mouse song. Not sure if that's cool enough for the hip kidz though.

Just be yourself. That's what's really cool.

Modest Mouse - The World at Large
I know that starting over is not what life's about.
But my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth.

Modest Mouse - Gravity Rides Everything
In the motions and the things that you say
It all will fall, fall right into place
As fruit drops, flesh it sags
Everything will fall right into place
When we die some sink and some lay
But at least I don't see you float away

The Moon and Antarctica and The Lonesome Crowded West would be my tier 1. Both are, conservatively, top 20 all-time albums for me. I like all Modest Mouse albums though, even WWDBTSES. Parting of the Sensory, Spitting Venom, Dashboard, Florida, People as Places as People are all damn good tracks imo.

Trucker's Atlas

I'm going up to Alaska
I'm going to get off scot-fricking-free
And we all did

Yeah, I'd probably put Moon and Antarctica and Lonesome Crowded West as tier 1(a) and Long Drive and Building Nothing out of Something as 1(b), to be quite honest. But while the latter two have some forgettable songs, the standout tracks on the those two are so goddamn good.

And I respectfully disagree on WWDBTSES. Spitting Venom is the only one I can say I honestly really like.
