I drove from Athens, GA to Little Rock for Sunday’s show. I waited 10 years to have the opportunity to see them live.

Great performance. I’m not sure if it’s a top-5 all-timer for me, but they still kick arse. Setlist was a little too geared towards the new record (not nearly as bad as Iron Maiden’s 2017 tour though). Any hopes of hearing some unexpected tracks from the ‘80s should be abandoned immediately.

Being on the floor made it a pretty special experience, and I’ll say that their lighting setup was stellar.

I was there! Haven’t really listened to them in a while since I’ve become a middle boring jazz player, but man they still kick arse.

Light show was spectacular. A little disappointed that the crowd wasnt full but when tickets are $300+ for floor seats, I guess that’s to be expected.

I liked how they didn’t focus on the big hits as much. It was much more of a true thrash concert and their set list was excellent for it.

Only thing I didn’t like was the use of the Alabama Crimson Tide logo on their screens during one song. We Auburn fans exist too!

Only part I saw that wasn't full was some of the floor areas. Stadium seats were pretty much all full from what I could tell.

Concert was incredible though. Very good mix of new and old stuff.

Hardwired
Atlas, Rise!
Seek & Destroy
The Memory Remains
The Unforgiven
Now That We're Dead
Dream No More
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Welcome Home
The Four Horsemen
Creeping Death
Moth Into Flame
Sad but True
One
Master of Puppets

Encore:
Battery
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman

Little Rock for Sunday’s show

Drove from Monroe to LR for the show on Sunday.

Sold-out, or very very close to it, in the Verizon Arena.

Show advertised to begin at 7:30. A DJ came on the mic and started playing some tunes around 7:00. There is no opening band, but Jim Breuer sort of "hosts" the show/pre-show, for lack of a better term. Breuer was fine. His opening/the pre-show sort of dragged out a bit. He kept leaving the stage, then returning saying "it's just about time" or "you've waited long enough" more than once.

Metallica probably took the stage around 8:45. Like I said, Breuer was fine, and I get the band's argument for no opening act, as they feel the openers get overlooked or ignored or pissed on by the fans. But a band would work better in this slot, IMO.

Once they came on though, Metallica absolutely killed it. Any one who has checked out the previous set lists knows two things: 4-5 songs of the Hardwired album and usually 2-4 songs change or rotate in and out of the set list regularly.

For example, on 1/18 in Tulsa, the set list included Holier Than Thou, Halo on Fire, Head Injury (Soundgarden cover), The Memory Remains, and Blackened in the encore.

LR two nights later got Through the Never, Fade to Black, Hit the Lights, Fuel, and Spit Out the Bone in the encore. I preferred the LR setlist as this was my first Metallica show so getting Fade and Hit the Lights was tremendous and I love Spit Out the Bone.

Overall, great show, great crowd, and the band seemed into it. I'm sure they do sort of go through the motions on these shows, or large part of them, but they brought the energy for sure.

I am a bit jealous B-Ham got Battery though.

That is really disappointing. Maybe if they had a real opener more people would have gone.

Face for floor seats wasn’t $300+, but that’s what scalpers we’re trying to get. I am pretty sure that the show was sold out on paper, but the secondary prices were so high that they ended up eating a lot of tickets.

I mean it was probably 90% full, just not the entire floor space was filled up to the walls.

They were drawing 40,000+ on their recent stadium tour with A7X and Volbeat opening. Even Slayer has drawn over 20,000 at a few of their retirement tour shows.

There were easily 20,000 last night. Legacy arena capacity is 17,654 in just the seats and they were all full. It was just the outskirts of the floor that wasn't at capacity. They could have maybe fit another 500-750. Its not like it was empty. As another poster said, the after-market for the tickets got insane.

20,000 is a lot but looks the show was "in the round" so they could fit more in......That is a lot of people and glad B'ham showed out.

Yea overall Bham had a good showing last night. Crowd was pretty loud and did a good job singing loudly when needed. Floor was tamer than I expected. You can get a decent view of the crowd in the second picture I posted above. All in all great night.

This is what I hate about ticket master's resale policy. Scalpers bought up tons of seats and then immediately listed them for resale at double and sometimes triple the price. Lower bowl seats were $133 face but were being listed for $300+ almost immediately. The empty seats you saw were seats that scalpers couldn't sell. Once the doors open, Ticketmaster cuts off all sales of tickets.

Also, the tickets in the upper bowl were also $133 face when they went on sale, and I think really only sold because the lower bowl was so expensive due to scalpers. Ticket Master did eventually drop the price on the upper tier tickets.
