Too many to list, the blanket statement would be the collective Charvel/Jackson, Kramer, Ibanez and ESP endorsement rosters throughout the 1980s.

EVH by far the most

Randy Rhoades
Jake E. Lee
Warren Demartini
George Lynch
C.C. Deville (love him or hate him he's an entertaining guitarist, I think he's underrated though)

Dimebag Darrell

I obviously like 80's metal

EVH is the obvious one; but Tremonti and Satriani were both really influential on my playing.

However, the guitarist that I most try to emulate is Les Dudek of the Allman Brothers.

I would love to say EVH and Randy Roads, but I probably play like Tony Iommi.

James Hetfield. The insane down picking, the iconic low hanging Explorer, the goofy laugh in all of his interviews and documentaries. Seems like a very down to earth dude nowadays.

Hetfield is the reason I started playing guitar. I got S&M on VHS back in 1999 and was just enamored with how cool he looked playing. It was only later that I realized how influential he was to actual guitarists

Of course you’d pick him and he’s not the best guitarist in his own band. Don’t tell me Scrub is a metal head!?

I think he's radically superior to Hammett. He revolutionized the right hand in metal, writes the best riffs and actually plays the 3 or 4 top solos in the Metallica catalogue.

Hammett is fine - a little too heavy on the wah and a little formulaic with the pentatonic speed runs.

I like good metal, yes. A lot of the shite on here that is lionized is crap.
