Were they any good at Groovin' on the Grounds?

It would be stupid to book at band for this event while they are still gaining publicity. Nostalgia will put butts in the seats and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

They were OK. Played what you expected, had good energy. The sound was awful, awful, awful. I blame that on the fact it was supposed to be an outdoor show that got moved at the last minute. I'm not gonna bitch too much, it was a free show about a half mile from my house and I had a flask of rum to make it better.

Just noticed they're going to announce the lineup on April 1 for a April 17 show. The timing seems kind of odd and you wonder if that would keep them from getting bigger names. But I guess they don't want too much trash to show up for a free concert.

With 170,000 to throw around they should be booking some really good acts. Should contract it out to talent buyers or from an agency

They definitely should. You would think they would have a guy for that or something.

I think it's dumb to not have it on campus as well. PMAC would be nice if they wanted to do something inside. However, I heard that you can't book the PMAC for concert style stuff anymore. I haven't tried to book that venue in a couple years so that's just off of second hand knowledge.

Do you have to be a student organization or just a student? Do you know?

Now that I'm a student over there again; I may be interested in it again. I've been doing more varsity sized stuff and out of state stuff, but not opposed to the smaller arena setting at all.

If they're gonna keep it in the River Center they need to book arena type headliners. I thought Chevelle and Ludacris were great but they're not gonna bring in 7000+ people for an arena show.

It definitely is beyond me that with a 170k budget if thats what it is that they can't do better. I wouldn't mind shooting them an email and asking if they need assistance.

It's always funny to me when people are like how'd you get this or that artist/venue and the response is "just asked." Now it doesn't always work out so simply but sometimes it is just that simple.

Weezer was great. I'm old and out of college though so I probably enjoyed it more than most college students. I'm pretty sure they played Hash Pipe so I don't think bands care about censoring.

i didn't even think about that, but you're right. what's funny is SOT pitched a fit because people wanted MGMT years ago and their response was that drugs were in their lyrics so they couldn't book them... then they book all these rappers

Lupe fiasco cursed through his whole set and kept apologizing about it a few years ago. That was the same year that retard white rapper from alabama refused to perform because of censorship.

The censorship thing is beyond ridiculous at a show on a college campus.
