Love 70's Elton. "Blue Moves" is vastly underrated

i guess one could make an argument for each, but i guess it comes down to personal taste.

The music is amazing...Paul Buckmasters orchestrations on his pre Yellow Brick Road days is so good! Tumbleweed Connection, Madman Across the Water, and Elton John has such musical depth! Blue Moves went back to that a bit but it was such a depressing listen as Bernie Taupin was in the throes of divorce...btw, from the woman in Tiny Dancer...

I fell off with Yellow Brick Road and Don't Shoot....moved to bubblegum.

Like his earlier stuff much better!

....Take me to the Pilot.

They toured together for a long time. I saw them together in San Diego in the early 90s. They had a segment where they sat across from each other playing piano and singing each others' songs. It was a great show.

Madman always killed me - but pretty much anything through Captain Fantastic was top notch. Just to add one- Caribou had some killer songs (and some bubblegum)--Pinky, Don't let the sun, ticking, etc. Pinky in my opinion, is one of the best and most overlooked songs in his entire catalogue .

Elton John is fantastic. For a long time I considered my enjoyment of his music a guilty pleasure, but these days I'm happy to admit I love his stuff.

Saw him at Jazz Fest a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. So, so many great songs!
