For anyone that hasn't been paying attention, Linkin Park released a new Album on May 19th and it's official: the Rock Band formally known as Linkin Park is dead.

They are a pop band now - and as someone who absolutely hated their last 3 albums (Minutes to Midnight was just alright), I actually kinda like their new sound, it's not Rock in any way though.

Chester Bennington to Those Who Think Linkin Park Sold Out: ‘I Will Punch You In Your F–king Mouth,’ ‘You’re a F–king P–sy’

Linkin Park abandons its signature sound and the result is unrecognizable

Linkin Park’s Bennington takes aim at fans again

People who say Linkin Park is a pop band now are retarded. Every album they do something new. So chances are their next album will sound much different.

But Chester does need to chill with trying to deal with the nu metal fans

That's just it, it's the best place for them on the new album. The new album is REALLY smooth with major major straight chord progressions, background harmonics, and repetitiveness, but so far I've had the whole album on repeat (just broke my 8th time through the album in 2 days, which is 8 times more than I have the last 4 albums) and really like it. I'm also one of the few people that agreed with Chester that nu rock was dead... or at least, I look back on it now that I'm older and see why he did it and agree with his decision.

If I had to put them in a genre it would be pop rock, side-by-side with Imagine Dragons, you could make a stretch that they are Alternative Rock still, as Alternative Rock has moved more into the pop field in the last few years (once again, not like I'm actually against this, I listen to the local Alternative station in Birmingham every day and like the new and old stuff)

I hope so, I want to keep listening to LP again, it's been an awesome year... I'm currently listening to RHCP, Jimmy Eat World, and Linkin Park (too bad I don't like B182's new album )

Sounds like Chester's getting one step closer to edge and about to break

I think I figured it out! Was driving me insane... their new sound reminds me a LOT of OneRepublic! This Album is currently my guilty pleasure

I mean honestly, I'd rather listen to a pop version of Linkin Park than the shitty trying to be a rock band version. Hybrid Theory is a phenomenal album, and Meteora was a very good follow up, but everything after that I can't say I've gone out of my way to listen to in 5 years...except maybe The Catalyst/What I've Done/New Divide.

Hybrid Theory was such a good album (and still is). I haven't been a fan of most of the music they've released since then other than a few singles.

This album sucks. Chester sounds like a whiney teenager.

I thought Living Things was a refreshing album. Best since Meteora.

I can appreciate them trying new things, but this sounds like a Chester solo piece and reminds me of Incubus' If Not Now When?

Not a fan, but you can't please us all.
