This was my favorite band when I was in high school. Hybrid Theory and Meteora got me through those years and I stuck with them until Chester died but I'm just now starting to listen to their new album with this Emily Armstrong girl. She's obviously not Chester Bennington but I approve of her. I think if they had tried to get someone to be him it would've been a massive failure so I kinda like that she's a little different. I know I'm late to this new LP album party but I kinda refused to listen when I heard they replaced her but after giving her a chance, I'm really loving it.
What does everyone think about her?

I resisted for a while, but finally heard Heavy is the Crown and it kicks arse, I like her voice.

Yep Heavy is the Crown is great. I'm thoroughly enjoying LP with her.

Noticed in Heavy is the Crown that her longest scream is (15/16ish seconds) when his longest was 17 seconds. Wonder if she can go longer or if that's her way of honoring him by not trying to outdo him.

Exactly. Getting a Chester sound alike would have made any tour into a cover band. Going this direction just continues LP into a new era with a different vibe.
There will be some that don’t like it, but they can just choose to listen to old LP.

Great, you want to continue on, then do so. But don't try to cover the catalog that made you all who you are with someone that butchers the great work Chester did.

I've seen extreme opinions online and yours is an example of that. I think she's great but I see a lot who also say she's terrible.
Problem is I don't think she's supposed to BE Chester. They needed a new lead singer and she's pretty damn good in my opinion. Her voice allows her to be able to continue LP in the same style as before but obviously she's not Chester and she never will be.
I don't see why there's such an uproar over her.

Then tell her not to try to be... The first show was horrendous. She can't hit the notes that he could his, she can't carry a scream like he could.
So become a true cover band of yourself and when you want to play anything prior to 2018, do it in a different way... tell her not to mimic Chester because she can't.
I for one won't listen to them anymore, but to each his own.

I just listened to her singing the older songs and you're right, she sounds terrible on those. I guess it's because the world knows how those are supposed to sound so our brains immediately go "WTF" listening to her on those. The new songs though, she sounds good.
The bad had a choice to make, replace his absence with another singer and move forward with a new sound or don't replace him at all. I mean, they can't just not sing the songs that made them who they are at concerts. They had a decision to make and they made it. Forward.

Two Faced and Casualty are some of the hardest LP songs since Given Up . It’s a pretty solid album and really loving Emily and her energy. People seem to think Chester was the band when honestly he didn’t write most of the music that was largely Mike.

Haven’t listened to any new stuff of theirs. They really should have changed the name.
Didn’t the drummer and bassist quit/say they won’t tour with them this go around?
