Seems on the Livestream she's having voice issues.

Sounded way better on Numb though.

Kinda listen to a couple of songs from the live stream on the drive home. I know absolutely nothing about vocals, but she wasn’t that good. Although, she was probably very nervous for the first performance. It’s hard to replace Chester, and she was trying a little too hard to replicate his vocals, and it failed. She definitely needs to practice more and train her vocals or lungs or something (maybe a little less raspy vocals?)Her voice was giving out, crackling and didn’t sound on key at parts.

But, I did think she sounded really good on bleed it out and her vocals fit pretty well for that song.

I’m not against a female vocalist, just hope she can get the vocals a little tighter.
I was very much pleased and enjoyed Bonnie Fraser performance with Mike shinoda earlier this year.

Another think i will pay attention to is why Rob Bourdon left the band. All Mike said was that Rob wasn’t all there for it anymore. I wonder if he is just older and doesn’t want to do the band stuff anymore. Or if he refused to continue the band without chester. It probably is hard to keep it going and to be 100% in it without Chester

Someone else left too, I know they are down 2 post Chester.

Saw rumbles on the interwebs criticizing her as the lead singer and that was the reason that they left... That Mike basically hand picked her to the dismay of others in the band.

Band has been average at best since Minutes to Midnight. Not sure why anyone thought it might be any different.

Just sound like a terrible cover band now.

LP died with Chester.

Brad delson (guitarist) is still with the band according to the billboard article and interviews. So I’m not sure if he had a family emergency or something like that on why he wasn’t there. If he had some scheduled a long time ago, I would have thought they could have done the live stream on a different date.

Maybe he’s only in studio and not touring? Maybe he’s recovering from an injury or surgery, guess we will find out later

if you read some interviews with the band, they never wanted to make the same album twice. A lot of their albums are very different sounding.
First two albums kinda the same.
Minutes to midnight was radio rock
A thousand suns went into an electronic rock sound
Living things was very electronic
The haunting party alternative rock/metal sound
One more light pop-rockish

They went into detail after one more light got a lot of backlash. Mike talked about how the direction they choose to go in for that album was based off of 2 years prior. That’s the type of genre that was popular at the time. By the time that album came out, people kinda grew out of it and fans hated it.

No matter what trends they were following to stay relevant, the music was still average at best

But good on them for trying I guess.

My wife asked me who was the LP cover band when I was playing the livestream at home

Hopefully the new music welcomes her voice better.

Chasing what was popular didn’t help them. They aren’t the Beatles, and those two fanbases were not even close to compatible to be accepting of it. What they built with the first two albums was lost, and by the end of it they had a completely different and divided fan base.

On the new lineup, I watched the whole livestream this morning, and I liked it. I think Emily will get more comfortable signing the legacy music and will improve. The new song is good and she’s definitely more comfortable singing it. It’s new LP and not trendy LP, so I’m excited.

Seeing a lot of backlash online about how Emily is in Scientology and wrote letters to the judge defending Danny Masterson on his rape trial.

But currently listening to the Zane Lowe interview with linkin park that was dropped 20 minutes ago

Haven't seen that, just tons of negativity around her performance and they should have renamed the band, that it isn't LP without Chester.

She did alright. Chester is dead. Nobody is replacing him.

Their new song is great. It's an obviously new era for LP.
She's basically doing covers of Chester's parts. People will get over it.

Still listen to the first two albums. Don’t care for much after that. Hard to imagine this band without Chester. Wish they would have just made a new band.
