My two favorite bands are Widespread Panic and The Allman Brothers so I'm guessing they have about 50 years or so until they're forgotten.

Will yours even last the decade?

Boom, roasted.

go pull some one liners off of 2004-2008 Wayne, like The Drought's 3&4. Back then, Nobody was touching him. No, he sucks. He's a shell of his former self lyrically.

Also, best rapper doesn't mean best lyricists. It's a combination of many things.

Lyrics
Flow
Story telling ability
Production
Ability to connect with audience

For example, not many hold a candle to Lupe Fiasco lyrically, but he doesn't connect with the masses. Same with guys like Cassidy.

Guys like Andre 3000 are the complete package. Great lyrics, flow, beat, story telling ability(his greatest asset IMO). That's why Big K.R.I.T is one of my fav rappers as well. Every one of his songs paints a picture and takes you on a journey.

Wayne always is on a cold beat, his lyrics suffers now, but his flows don't. In his prime, he was the best. Now, he's very mediocre, and guys like I hold on to the hope he'll get 'hungry' again and start killing beats like he use to.

Yeah, if we're considering one liners. Fortunately, one liners don't tell the whole story.

killed way many more beats than Em.

can someone explain what kill the beat means? I like a ton of rap, but when the rap fanantics start speaking this lingo, they are all usually talking out of their asses.Which is exactly what rap is.

Wayne pre-Carter III had an argument. He has lost all claims to the throne. And I am a huge Wayne fan (once again, pre-Carter III)

I don't understand how someone can like Wayne's work before CIII and not like Carter IV. Does not compute.

I feel the same way. I was reading an interview he had and he said the next cd out will be like Carter II, guess we'll have to wait and see.
