We know Em is good but seriously Lil Wayne has done more to rap music and killed way many more beats than Em.

Kevin gates will probably surpass lil Wayne. he is crazy good.

Lil Wayne would kill Em in a freestyle

Wayne pre-Carter III had an argument. He has lost all claims to the throne. And I am a huge Wayne fan (once again, pre-Carter III)

Now I know you are just trolling.

I like Wayne and Gates. But calling anyone "the best ever" will never go well on this site

I enjoy wayne and gates probably more than anyone else I like right now and IDGAF if that makes them the Best in the game or just the best for me. I like it and everyone else can get over it

Truth is this board has a serious case of the Hipster and the only "good" artists are the ones youve never heard of. If anyone ever becomes mainstream, they are shite, unless they flame out and stop making records when then they become "vastly underrated". Its a stupid way of thinking but thats how it is

I agree with this. It's far more than just this board too. But if you do listen to what Wayne is rapping about, it has stopped making sense. I was listening to Da Drought 3 and Carter II the other day and he used to make good records. These days, he just rhymes words and has nothing to do with the subject. I'll still listen to Wayne just because I used to be a huge fan, but he has certainly lost the top spot for me.

As far as Kevin Gates, I downloaded his new mixtape because everyone keeps saying he's great but I don't see anything special. Maybe I'm missing something. Someone tell me a good song he did so I can listen to that.

Well that was predictable

How much longer does your favortie band/artist have until they "sellout" and "suck"?

My two favorite bands are Widespread Panic and The Allman Brothers so I'm guessing they have about 50 years or so until they're forgotten.

Will yours even last the decade?
