Interesting thread. I play guitar as a hobby but my interest wanes from time to time and I cannot get any apps to record because Im just not that guy.. This is interesting in that I can take ideas in my head (I have alot of them there!) and match it with a few chords that flow, and then upload and see what happens.

You can do that I've heard. I've only used it the 1 time and what I uploaded was a pretty good recording.
I think the better that your upload is, the better your results will be. Use a click track and keep it pretty tight at least.

1 of my friends is trying to talk me into trying this exact thing. I kind of want to try it, but afraid it will come back to bite me in the arse.

About this copyright thing, if you already uploaded your own song yourself somewhere else on the internet it will flag it and not work? Is there a way to show it that it’s you that uploaded it?


Also does this cost anything



ETA: my plan was to record all my songs solo and then get a band again. I realize it’s probably insulting to a musician to be like hey play like the robot but here we are in 2026


It seems that if you pay them 10 bucks a month you retain copyright and their “music” sounds too computery so essentially the plan would be use it to fill out a song then demo that to musicians to save time

I tried to explain this in this thread, but I don't think you understood. If you upload your songs--whether completed or not--anywhere on the internet, 9/10 times SUNO will flag them as "copyrighted" and refuse to let you upload them. It has nothing to do with copyright law. It's been a major issue with the app for a while now. For example, I store my demos and works in progress on Soundcloud. While scraping the internet, SUNO evidently found them and refused to accept them being uploaded to the SUNO app.

I think this is the ideal use of it. Play around with the song on Suno until you have a version that is close to what you want, then record it with your musicians. Saves a lot on studio time.

I don't have much on soundcloud anyway and probably none left there that I will use Suno on. I can upload those files directly and the songs are already copyrighted.
