Back in the 70s I wouldn’t listen to him as I disagreed with a lot of his political stances. Over the years i’ve come to realize that was my loss. I really do enjoy his music.

While he was wrong for turning his back on his first son and beating women, he wrote great music and appeared to have matured and was working on becoming a better person when he was shot. Music legend.

The more I learn about him, the more I realize he is almost the posterboy for troubled artist musician. When things were at their peak professionally, he was at his worst personally.

He was a great songwriter, but his politics were very shallow and he had horrid taste in females.

Me too. Neither of my parents were huge Beatle fans. I can remember mom actually get choked up when Elvis died. For Lennon they were just somber.
Then I remember them cutting in every few minutes when they actually got news people to their desks.
Was it Lennon or Reagan that was the "inspiration " behind Buckwheats Been Shot? The news was really bad back then. Only one camera and one guy on scene per network. So their was REALLY nothing new to add when they cut in.
