Illmatic is better than anything Hova ever did, although The Blueprint is not far behind. Too bad Nas never did anything after that while Jay Z put out quality album after quality album (with Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint leading the pack)

I'd say Reasonable Doubt is better than the Blueprint 1. JMO.
Can't link right now, but D'Evils is one that I've always enjoyed. And U Don't Know off of Blueprint. Can't Knock the Hustle is outstanding. MJB on the hook is fantastic. Can I Live is quality as well.

Always been my favorite, not even trying to say he is the best but my favorite. I can play something from him no matter what mood I'm in or what I feel like listening to. That's what I think makes him so good, I see the Ilmatic post in here and agree. Nas is a better rapper but all he gives you is rap. Give me something to jam in the club, something mellow, something to ride with my girl, something when I'm in a bad mood, something to get me fired up, something to motivate me.... Just feel Jay covers all bases when putting out an album.

That kinda just put him in the box with rick Ross. I mean how rich is he? Music sales aren't what they used to be, nobody wears roca wear, he doesn't tour hard. I think diddy and fiddy are way richer and jay z was just fronting. If he's lying about that what else is he lying about, his raps could be fake.

In one of my bigger lyric mess ups I used to think Jay-Z was saying "Spreadin' the cheese" instead of "Spendin' the G's." (Song came out when I was in 6th grade).
I just assumed it was some black guy slang for getting rich or something.
