Is TSO Wizards in Winter the first new 'classic' Christmas song since Mariah Carey?

Any other songs out there qualify? I can't think of any that meet the 'classics' criteria.

and EL OH EL they made that guy's house decoration video into their 'official' music video.

I can’t speak to how “classic” those 2 are but they are certainly on similar levels of shiftiness.

TSO May be the most successful 80’s metal band. They used to be Savatage.

Then they started playing Xmas music and changed their name.

They sneak in songs like that one every once in a while

Yes she is. And those elevated arms they played on were pretty slick.

Its just one guy from Savatage. They've had people from Testament and other bands. There's also two versions of TSO that tour simultaneously.

Cmon man. Their biggest hit is a Savatage song. TSO started as a side project. The stylings are exactly the same. O’Neill , Pitrelli, Caffrey and several others play on and off.

It’s the Savatage sound that’s selling out arenas. Every single year.

TSO and Savatage played at the same time on two separate stages at Wacken 2015. It was pretty cool.

That's because they have 2 separate stage bands, TSO East and TSO West.

So they found something that works.

They could've played their "real" music, made a few cds, played to some 12,000 seat arenas if lucky for a few years and that would be it.

Instead, they put out some really good Christmas music that is fresh and modern, play to large arenas that consistently sell out, and have been doing it for nearly 20 years.

Pretty damn good track record.

Oh, and Beethoven's Last Night is a pretty good cd.

Come on. They actually played 1,200 seat clubs for their entire career before calling it quits. Any given Christmas holiday season by TSO is bigger than Savatage's entire combined career.
