Indie bands who went on to release their best album on a major label?

I love a lot of punk, hardcore, metal and indie rock music. It's typically taboo or controversial in those worlds for bands to "sell out" and sign with major labels. I never really bought into that so much. As long as the music is good and they didn't blatantly compromise their sound for commercial success...
I was listening to NYC hardcore legends Sick Of It All on my way to work this morning. One of my favorite bands ever. RIP vocalist Lou Koller, who recently passed away from cancer. They have a lot of albums... but I think their best by far is their only major label record, Built To Last.
Also, The Bronx. That band released a couple albums on a Def Jam before going back to independent releases. Their major label debut, Bronx II, is my favorite record of theirs and their hardest rocking record IMO.
I think the band Spoon also released their best album with their only major label release, A Series of Sneaks, on Elektra records.
My favorite Built to Spill album is Keep It Like A Secret, on Warner Bros.
My favorite Pixies album is Trompe Le Monde, their major label debut on Elektra in the U.S..
Drive Like Jehu's Yank Crime LP on Interscope Records is their best.

Nirvana-Nevermind
Dinosaur Jr.-Green Mind
Modest Mouse-Moon and Antartica (cheating here because their best is Lonesome Crowded West)
Built to Spill-Perfect From Now On (Keep It Like a Secret was second on Warner)
Edited to add: totally agree about Spoon. Love that album. That had such a bad time w/ the label they won't play any songs from it live. Nirvana is not really an indie band but they could be considered that before Nevermind.

Jane's Addiction- their first album was released on an idie label even though they were signed to WB. It was allowed by WB for street cred for the band.
Their next album, Ritual De La Habitual, was released directly from WB. And it is a masterpiece.

I def disagree about the Dinosaur Jr, Pixies choices...
Nirvana, Spoon and BtS choices have an argument for sure.. But prob not mine..
I love Yank Crime and on that note, Rocket From The Crypt's two best records were on Interscope.. Circa: Now! and Scream, Dracula, Scream..
I also think The Replacement's Tim is their best record..
