Heard an acoustic version of radioactive. Pretty good harmonies, dynamics and such. Then I heard a new single that was the exact same structure and immediately thought nickelback. I think they're less gimmicky than Mumford IMO.

While I'm not going to make the case ID is a good band...unless they are white trash grit cock rockers who play to the lowest common denominator, I'm not sure Nickelback is a fair comparison.

Exactly, it's that faux-arena rock sound that's catchy, then annoying, then excruciating. Clean-cut, Abercrombie Nickleback. Lots of folks are gonna look back on this band with regret.

I think people will remember Mumford the same way we remember Reel Big Fish and other popular ska bands at the time. Just a harmless flavor of the month.
Bands like Imagine Dragons and Nickleback actually do harm because they show that money can be made from this garbage and encourage record companies to churn it out.

I really don't equate imagine dragons (an indie pop rock band) to nickleback.
Nickleback is dude rock akin to creed, but slightly worse since they are Canadian.

Indie as in sound and ethic, not label.
They are on interscope records, but I'd definitely say they worked to get there with a few lucky breaks:
