Where and who? And while it may be an impossible answer and the only choices may seem like Woodstock or Zeppelin at the Garden or maybe a Beatles show, think of the experience and what you'd like to do at the show. You want to be active or just gaze? Again, RIGHT NOW.

I swear, this concert just jives me up...no cell phones; no standing around. Just pure as it gets; a little evil, but tons of fun. The intro may be one of the best ever.

Jesus, that's a great thought...I wonder if I would get the same vibe actually being there as much as just the sheer awesomeness of Maben's and O'Rourke's production on it.

The Russia Freedom Concert, or whatever it was called, in 1991 with AC/DC, Metallica, The Black Crows, and Pantera. The USSR had just broken up and gotten rid of Communism and a million people showed up to this concert at an old air base. The police were still sort of in Communist mode and weren't sure how to handle the crowd. It's like the people were giving a big frick you to Communism. Musically speaking, AC/DC wasn't over the hill yet, Metallica were at their peak, and Pantera were about to blow up.

You really made me get to thinking about this. I'll undoubtedly change my mind but, for now, I'll settle on The Who Live at Leeds, 1970. I'd wanna be right down front so I could see Keith.

can you play drums?
then go back to the one in San Fransisco when Keith passed out and Pete Townshend got some schmuck from the audience to finish the set.

Yes. I've been gigging/recording since 1987.

I've seen it. Not really sure what your point is, but the show where Keith passed out was in 1973. The Leeds concert was three years earlier, and is one of The Who's very best concerts.

what's your setup? I'm glad I started on drums, it helped with learning other instruments. My first real kit was a Pearl Export select that I still have.

My favorite personal kit is my 1996 DW Collectors, 18x22 kick, 13x16 floor-tom, 9x12 rack-tom. My primary snare right now is a Gretsch New Classic maple, 6x14. I use 17" and 18" Paiste Signature Mellow crashes, a Paiste 20" Giant Beat crash/ride, and 14" Meinl Byzance Medium hats. My throne is a DW Airlift tractor-seat, kick pedal is a DW 9000 single, and all cymbal stands are DW 5000 series. As you can see, I'm a fan of DW's products.

ETA: And you? What's your setup?

meant that if we're traveling back in time, go knock out the dude who took Moon's place and get on stage instead of him.

Hey, DW is quality imo. Right now I'm recording with 2 18x24 Tama star classic kick drums, on the rack are 9x10, 10x12, 14x14 tama star classic toms, two floor Tom's which are a 16x18 DW collector's maple and a 14x20 tama.

Few snares, 8x14 pearl V.P. maple, 6x13 DW edge for the most though. I love zildjan. Have 12 surrounding including hats. Evans hydraulics. Been using pro mark 7a sticks.

Not to hijack the thread lol just like talking instruments.

I can't argue with that.

I used Evans for years and recently switched back to Remo. No particular reason, just felt like a change. Both companies produce quality drumheads. I'm a Vic Firth guy. 7A American Classic hickory wood-tip sticks for mic'd gigs and recording; SD4 Combo maple sticks for volume-sensitive unmic'd gigs.

My apologies to the OP, as well...
