It would be interesting to see how Ozzy'scareer would've turned our had Randy Rhoads lived. I also suspect that Nirvana would've slipped from relevancy or become a Guns N Roses type myth waiting a decade to put out an album. Nirvana had it all. Self-destructive frontman, members whose talents weren't fully showcased, a Yoko figure, the pressure to be perfect. I don't see them making it even if Kurt lived. The correct answer is John Lennon.

I can't quote BC I am on mobile but I think even if Cobain wouldn't have died nirvana still would have broken up and grohl would have still formed FF.

That's a good one. I would've liked to have seen where MLB would've gone.
Good call on the Gram Parsons too.

John Lennon, easily
He had just released his comeback album and there's no telling what was in store for the future. I think he would have done some great things in the 80s had it not been for that POS who wanted his 15 minutes of fame. Lennon was a changed man and his music would have definitely been a bit different (as was seen on Double Fantasy).
Others:
Duane Allman - how amazing would the Allman Brothers had been if the original lineup had stayed together for 10+ years? Greatest guitarist I've ever heard. Yes, step aside Hendrix and Page. He and Oakley went way too soon.
Syd Barrett (pre-mental breakdown) - Pink Floyd's career would have been a whole lot different had this man kept running the show. Who knows what would have happened.

Damn, this far along and no Cobain? I'll take Cobain simply out of respect.
Because he'd probably just kill himself again.

No matter how much I think about it, I can't come up with an answer
