He's a terrible person and a not that good singer. Hell, I listen to a lot of their music and that includes only one/two of his songs. Cooley is of a similar mindset, but doesn't come across as douchey. Hell, even his attempts at busting on Bush didn't really work.

Patterson Hood is literally the definition of white guilt. All his songs were always about how poor and awful his life is and how much he wants to kill himself, but now he’s rich so he has to have something else to complain about. Hood makes Jason Isbell look normal.
Mike Cooley is a liberal, but he’s cool as hell and isn’t obnoxious.

Last time I saw them, Hood let us know if we, or anyone we knew, voted for Trump, we were racists and weren't welcome.
Cooley later told a story about Ronald Reagan sending the KKK to advocate for him during the 1980 election. Yes, Ronald Reagan and the KKK were hand in hand. The same KKK that was founded by the Democrats just a couple of decades prior.
I left the show and haven't listened to them since.
