You could try some funk/jam bands. I'm not particularly big on Widespread or Phish, but some bands like Lettuce, Umphrey's McGee, Jazz Mandolin Project, etc.. I was like you for a while, just listening to grunge, but I've really gotten into jam bands and attending the concerts. STS9 is still one of my favorite bands to chill out too.

You hear Groove Armada on alt rock stations?

Groove Armada may be the lone exception. That band actually always reminds me of the movie Collateral when they tried to pass that Hands of Time song off an an "oldy."

106.1 the underground out of New Orleans. Available on I HEART RADIO. 106 minutes with no commercials. Very limited DJ interaction. I like it, a lot.
