recommend another good show that I can watch on YouTube?
One of the best shows they ever played was 10/31/96 and I'm pretty sure the whole thing is on Youtube. It's a must watch if you like the Talking Heads.
Everyone is different, but what hooked me on Phish was their Lawn Boy album, and specifically Reba on it. First heard it early 91 or 92, then started getting bootlegs on Maxell tapes.

Listen to Sunday nights Wedge. Listen to the whole thing. If you don't dig it, you're not going to dig phish. Move on.

It's amazing the quality of video and lights that changes in just two years. 1995 to 1997.

This is one of the better shows to get people into Phish in my experiences.
My favorite Phish show, and the one the got me into them. I stole disc one of that show from my brother when I was in junior high. Never looked back.

That famous You Enjoy Myself got my two brothers into Phish. I group it with 12.9.95 and 10.31.95 (can't find a link) as the 'Holy Trinity' of YEMs.

OP, looks like you disappeared but if you decide to make an appearance again this may help.
I was in the same boat as you. I am a WSP fan and have liked the since college. Never really gave Phish the time of day UNTIL i went to one of their shows. I wasn't terribly excited about going but some of my friends wanted to go and I like beer/smoke so I went. After that show, I never looked back. Being there live and in person is such a great way to force yourself to listen to the music. If there is a show near you, then do everything you can to go.

Sounds like alot of advice on here is to see them live. I'll have to check into it

They will be in Orange Beach next Friday night, 8/1, Birmingham the next night, and Atlanta the next--StubHub is your friend.
Makes for a great 3 day, 1200 mile road trip (1350 from BR).

Staying in Turquoise Place in OB, Hilton Homewood Suites in Birmingham (by the Galleria), and I don't have ATL booked yet (the wife is a Hilton Diamond/Honors level, so I have the luxury of getting a room just about anywhere at the last minute).
ETA...watching the video stream from Sunday night in Chicago--just now hitting "The Wedge"
