Just curious.

I can't stand it either so that makes at least two of us. Definitely one of the few songs that makes me wanna gag.

Honestly, I've always loved that song.

It's a really cool song with a great bassline and a bad arse solo.

I think its brilliant and timeless. Much better than 95% of that crap that is made today.

Not a valid argument. I agree that it is that much better than crap made today. Still doesn't make me like the song any better. Saying an Eagles song is greater than Bieber, Katy Perry, Nickelback, etc. is no big feat.

The Eagles are staler than forty year old slices of bread. I can't think of a single song of theirs that has held up... except maybe "Take It Easy", which is a Jackson Browne song in the first place.

I didn't realize I was required to make a "valid argument" on why I like them. I guess its just personal taste. For me, it's very nostalgic. I remember going to the hunting camp sitting in the truck between my dad and my uncle. We rode to Mississippi and back all the time and my pops had an 8-track player with about 6 tapes that he played, two were the Eagles. A 'Three Dog Night" and a 'Wet Willie" tape. I don't remember the others but pops did not have a vast collection. I believe he played those few 8-tracks for about 5 years straight.

I thought it was pretty good the first three or four times I heard it but it got old REALLY quick and I've loathed it for the last 35 years or so.

Warren Zevon's Desperados Under the Eaves is a much better song with the same theme.

i believe "The Big Lebowski" has influenced a lot of y'alls comments cause now its hip to say 'they suck'. For once, don't be "sheep" and allow other entities to alter ur view. Think for urself. I can bet my left nut that every one of u who just said "they suck" are between 20-35 years of age. But i'm sure y'all won't admit that.

i'm 29 and I love the song. I think it's one of the best written songs in rock music.

I'm not a big Eagles fan, but it sounds more like your just tired of hearing it and the Eagles on the radio.

It's like people saying they hate 'Stairway to Heaven' or something (not comparing the to)

But I feel there's lots of old classics that people loathe if only for the fact that we get them rammed down our throat decade after decade and in turn we end up loathing the band
and their entire sound

btw I love Hotel california

so suck it
and I've never seen the Big Lebowski
I'm guessing he hates on them in the movie?

totally agree with this. i turn the channel every time the Eagles, Led Zep, ZZ Top, Journey, Boston, etc...come on. Not because i don't like them but after 3 decades on the same stuff, it gets old. But the music is still good, just not after the 9,000 time.
