I had forgotten how good this album was. No really bad songs, music was very good and cutting edge for the time, and Love really captures that 90's grungy angst.
Never read on it but I wonder how much influence (if any) Kurt Cobain had on the songwriting. Sure smacks of Nirvana.

Billy Corgan had more to do with this album than Kurt. He was fricking Courtney at the time.

I thought Corgan hooked up with Love way later. LTS came out in the mid 90's

She was cheating on Kurt with Corgan at the time. Courtney Love was a huge slut. Corgan has admitted to being in the studio while it was being recorded. Its widely speculated that he at least helped write it, if not just wrote it all himself.

That's a great album. Celebrity Skin was great too. Much more massive sounding.

I saw this tour at the Rendon Inn w/Veruca Salt.

Love the album. I always assumed Kurt wrote the songs.

IIRC, she said the Smashing Pumpkins stopped writing hits when he stopped writing about her. His response allegedly was Hole stopped having hits when he stopped writing for them.

What I remember is that Live Through This had rumors around that Kurt Cobain had helped her with it. Those rumors have been debunked by everybody involved and Corgan was never mentioned other than the song "Violet" being inspired by her relationship with him. It's well known that the Celebrity Skin album was a collaboration with Corgan.
