Has anyone had a better experience with a music player that wasnt an iPod?

My Pod is on it's last leg and I want to get a new one before it shits out and I lose all my music.
Wanted to see if anyone ventured the waters away from iPods and had an enjoyable experience

I like my Sansa. Just wish it would dock and charge. It's an apple world there.

i dropped mine like that in water and ended up buying the HD one, and then ended up doing the same thing to it later, and then the discontinued. i was pissed!

I have both an ipod touch and a zune touch. I like the zune better as an mp3 player. The ipod is more versatile for streaming music with all the apps for it.

That's what I have. It's the only model I know of that can hold all of my music. It also hooks up to my car stereo which is a huge plus.
I wish a great non-Apple option was available because I fricking despise iTunes.

Zune was the best I had but it didn't have enough space and they quit making it.
