It is most definitely the custiest of the festivals
Agreed. I guess I'm in the minority on this board but I thought the lineup wasn't anything to get excited about.

Have they put out what days bands are playing?
Posted on 1/16/14 at 9:31 am to TheDoc
They won't release the schedule for a while

Hopefully they'll put Modest Mouse and Avett Brothers in the spot right before the headliners on different days. Best time slot of the whole thing in my opinion, sun going down on the beach. Shins were perfect right there last year and Wilco was fricking spiritual the year before.

Family show bro, too provocative.

Can we all agree that foster the people shouldn't have a headlining spot at a festival ever?

Even better, they got tegan and Sarah

I'd like to see Avett Bros in the just before sunset spot where Black Crowes were. That was awesome. Modest Mouse definitely needs to be before a headliner.

I've never been to HF, actually I've never been to a major music festival at all before, so I have some questions.
-How soon would I need to book a place that is relatively close to the stages? Obviously, they'll book fast as shite, but I mean will they be gone by this afternoon or do I have a few weeks?
-For those not as fortunate to get that close, what is it like staying a few miles away and cabbing? How hard is it to get back to the hotel after the last act of the night?
-Do the ticket prices go up over time or are they set? Likewise, can they sell out or will they sell as many as they can?

They have a pretty good shuttle system if you don't get a room nearby. You can camp in the state park with the wooks and they have a shuttle from there too.
Tickets now are probably as high as they will go. Since the lineup is garbage I'm sure you could find some cheap ones on craigslist. I don't think they will sell out.

You may not even be able to book now. I know Lighthouse (which is definitely walking distance) only has a couple units left, mainly because it's massive. I would guess anything closer is sold out.

Check the shuttle map, try to get a place near a shuttle stop and buy a shuttle pass.

Ticket prices are now at the highest they will be. Single day passes could come out closer to the date, but no guarantee of that since there has been no official announcement yet.

I went in 2011 and 2012 and stayed in the same house both years and booked it about a month or 2 before the fest, people that think you're fricked if you don't book now just don't look hard enough. It was about a mile or 2 from the grounds which was about a 5 min shuttle ride. Most importantly it was right across the street from that grocery store "waves" so easy access to beer and food.

Wonder if I should wait to get tickets closer to the fest
There's always people who can't go who put tickets up for like $150 on Craigslist.
