Saw him at Dooley's in Tempe 1982. Dude could rock. Friends I was with knew the drummer from high school. Hung with him a little afterward. Always loved this band. That was the epitome of rock n roll. Light my fuse!

He wrote it. Not sure if he actually was the singer.

I did not realize that he produced Weird Al's first six studio albums and co-produced a couple after that. He also played the guitar solo on Eat It.

Oddly he played on 2 Steely Dan songs. Show Biz Kids- slide guitar, Chain Lightning - guitar solo.

He played on Donald Fagen's Nightfly album too.

Not hijacking:

In that video, Meatloaf on drums? Lauper in a black wig on bass?

Yup, Cindy Lauper is sporting the wig.

Meatloaf on drums? Hmm. Gotta take another look

This is an excellent analysis for those interested:

He looks 5 feet tall, but played like a giant!.

If that's not Meatloaf on drums it's his doppleganger.

Cyndi was heavily involved with WWF around that time. She had Captain Lou in the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun video, and then she made a few ringside appearances as Wendi Richter's manager. I think she even made an appearance at the first WrestleMania.

Nice. Great breakdown and analysis by Fil. He and Rick Beato are the best at this.

Fil confirmed blow by blow just how tight this performance was.

Definitely The Meat.

Yeah, Cindy Lauper was busy back then with the WWF, wasn't she? Fun cartoon characters and good times back then before Wrestling got too dark and serious.

Captain Lou
he had a moment there for a while. NRBQ also has a song called unsurprisingly “captain lou” in which he appears

I never got a chance to see him live, but burned my ears up on these albums:

Demolition

Derringer also wrote and performed this pro wrestling theme, which went hard as a motherfricker.

Ok, on that Free Ride video posted, is that one guitar player a time traveler? The guy playing the white SG. He looks like he is from the mid 2000’s or something. Strange.

That is Jerry Weems on the white SG.

I saw him open for REO in like 1979 ...maybe 80.

I saw him open for Peter Frampton on the "I'm In You" tour and at one point he masturbated his guitar neck.

I think that's Todd Sharp. He used to play for Hall and Oates.

Oh sorry. I'm wrong. Weems... Jerry Weems
