Someone described Goose perfectly - They are the Phish version that Greta Van Fleet is to Led Zeppelin. Maybe they'll find their own footing one day.

This was my take but then this thread made me think i need to do another listen, but then.....

Yeah, not doing another listen.

Not for everyone. They have been super fun to watch lately. Hope they can keep it up.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some of their stuff but it doesnt blow me away. I'm sure after seeing them live I'll have a slightly different opinion.

Goose opened up this show (6/19/21…Thornville, OH) with a slightly slowed down and a bit more “soulful”, if you will, version of Creedence’s “Green River”. (start at the beginning of the video—first song).

CCR’s Green River never really did anything for me—I didn’t hate it, but there are 10+ other CCR tunes that I tend to go to before Green River. After hearing this Goose cover, I have a renewed interest in it. I have listened to this version at least 15 times in the last 6 months, and now my band is learning this slightly slower Goose version…FWIW.

Give it a listen—you may dig it!

This was one of the best jam shows I've seen in forever. The way the jam develops is uncharacteristic for them. More of a darker tone, which I know many fans have been wanting.

Sounds like a typical Phish 3.0 jam to me.

overusing the vocal effects these days. I liked them better when Rick just sang normal as he has a good voice for a jam band singer.

I don't mind the vocal effects too much. That said, their acoustic sets are some of my favorite.

Check out their acoustic band Orebolo.

Orebolo - Shelter From The Storm

Agreed, their acoustic sound is one of the best around.

I haven't gotten into them, but I was blown away that they're charging $110 before fees, etc for the cheapest tickets for their 3 night run at the Fox in Atlanta this June.

I guess it's yet to see if they can actually sell the place out, but I went to see MMJ at the Fox recently and those tickets were maybe $40. Stubhub has them going from $170 and up. I just can't really wrap my head around that.

LOL
goose is selling out nearly every show they play
100 bucks is the going rate for a small venue show for anyone with a decent touring following

good for them and everyone else
its hard making a living on the road

That’s fake news. Before fees they’re $89.50.
