They've booked countless good bands, you can't get all pissy when they pick one you don't like. Just don't go like the rest of us?

The deftones:

their recent album is up to #11
their 2010 album got up to 6.

I'd say they are pretty relevant.

They've sold 8 million records, won a Grammy, had 3 records go platinum in a era where people don't buy albums and sell out big shows night after night..

Not to mention one of the most influential rock bands of the last 15 years..

You could say the same for Nickelback, who has accomplished more, and all of those awards and nominations doesn't make their music any better. However, I do have respect for you promoting the Varsity and trying to make it a better venue. It was dogshit while I went to LSU.

Musically, the Deftones are in their prime.

You guys have an age bias, I think. It is the Deftones lack of obscurity, and/or youth.

Their music has never stopped owning arse.

How can you claim otherwise?

They damn near invented a genre by combining alt-rock with metal.

Are you now trying to use facts and record sales as an argument as to why a certain act/artist/band is good?

You are a joke. If you don't like a particular artist or type of music it automatically sucks. And anyone else who listens to it sucks too. If you do like an artist, they are the greatest band to ever live and everyone should think the same.

What a dumbass

Pump the breaks there bud. I respect that they're not just turning out processed crap like most modern rock bands, but their recent stuff doesn't hold a candle to Adrenaline, Around the Fur, and White Pony. If it did, they damn sure wouldn't be playing the Varsity.
