My wife listens to the country music stations in the car that play his music a lot. She likes a lot of that stuff, but even she tunes to a different station when his songs come on. That's how cringeworthy Sam Hunt is.
He's even a meme in the music world. "Sam Hunting" is when you semi rap/talk over music without actually singing.
A lot of "country music" fans despise him for taking "hick hop" (country twanged white boys rapping over LA style produced beats) into the mainstream.
Hunt is part of the unholy triumvirate of bad Nashville pop country along side Luke Bryant and Florida/Georgia Line. Those 3 are the worst offenders in the industry. They are walking parodies on purpose with zero authenticity.
