Fun Music Quiz from Esquire.

Challenges you to listen to a song snippet and then match it to the album cover. The easy rounds are...well...easy, but I definitely felt challenged in the medium/hard rounds.
Ended up with a 246. I think 250 is max.

What'd you miss?
I missed the Frank Ocean one from the first medium category and the RHCP one from the first hard category, I know. And then I missed several in the last hard category so I only got 3/5 points there.

I knew Sleater-Kinney, Rilo Kiley, Jenny Lewis, Grimes and a handful of obvious ones like Fleetwood Mac and Janis Joplin... but some I absolutely did get right by clicking on the cover with a girl bc of the female vocals.

I got 248. I pulled a couple way out of my arse. Like I've never heard anything by The xx, but I've read about what they sound like. And I've heard enough in passing from Jenny Lewis and St. Vincent to recognize their voices.

Guess at 99% of the indie/electronic stuff. Guessed at 75% of the rap/r&b. Essentially, I really struggled from level 4 on.
I guessed at The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Daft Punk, Frank Ocean, Common, Mos Def, Sleater-Kinney, Arctic Monkeys (because I had no clue what the album cover looked like), Spoon, Alabama Shakes, Arcade Fire, The xx, St. Vincent, Tame Impala, Grimes, Basement Jaxx, Kendrick Lamar, Bajah, Jurassic 5, Chuck D, Anderson Paak, Mac Demarco, Rilo Kiley, Mitski, Angel Olsen, Speedy Ortiz, Beach House, Jenny Lewis, Twin Peaks
