What is odd about this is not that Fun. is on Fueled by Ramen, a label started by members of Less than Jake. no, what makes this notable is that it is the first rock single to reach #1 on the Billboard chart since 2008.

Now, Fun. isn't the most hard rocking band ion earth, but they are clearly a rock band. Is this an aberration of an appealing, non-threatening rock band produced by a rap mogul with a quirky single? Or is this the beginning of a shifting tide in pop music tastes, with rock becoming more commercially viable?

I heard them say on sirius that when they first started out a sweedish (?) band called them up because they were also called "fun". They politely asked if they would change their name and so they simply added a " . "

Immediately got famous and slapped "fun" in the face with their period.

This song is pretty damn good too

I used to think the song was okay...until it became the unofficial official FB status of idiots that want to sound inspiring.

Hadn't heard of them, listened to a couple of songs and I don't get the "rock" reference. It's sugary pop.

not evidenced by that song. Sounds pretty pop to me.

I like the whole album quite a bit and I'd say it's a little bit rock and a little bit pop. I can't get behind a band using auto tune and being pure rock.

The singers former band, "the format", had some catchy as hell songs.

He only uses it on one track though, right? The album is great IMO.
