Depending on how you categorize them - do the Beach Boys deserve to be somewhere on this list?

Dont necessarily disagree with any of the bands up there, but the order is complete shite.
And Rage at 19? LOfrickingL
Ahead of GNR, Nirvana, etc? Yeah, no...
Glad to see Tool up there. Don't think they get much respect out of a close circle in the grand scheme of things.

I knew it was you when I reading down this list thinking this is pretty decent I like the Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains adds then I saw Paramore. No Freaking Way! And then Green Day and then Blink and all the rest
Yikes
They are just your favorite definitely not the best of all time. Or the best of any time

I would put Hendrix far down that list.....he was more of a solo artist. Revolutionary guitar player....as a band? Meh.....

I could get down with Pearl Jam on the list. Maybe Alice In Chains. The others? No way.

A band doesn’t have to be 40 years old to put out incredible music that will stand the test of time. Haley Williams is one of the best female rock vocalists of all time, and the first three Paramore albums are all filled with absolute bangers. Have you ever actually listened to “Brand New Eyes”? Any guitarist who’s ever attempted to learn Paramore songs quickly discovers how deceptively difficult they are to play.
MCR and Green Day each put out one of the most iconic rock operas of all time, right up there with Ziggy Stardust, Court of the Crimson King, 2112, and Timmy, and STILL each had BETTER albums in their catalog.
I’m not going to defend Blink because they’re just dumb fun, but Mark Hoppus is a genius on bass, and Travis Barker is one of the best drummers of his generation. Travis went on to produce essentially an entire genre unto himself of music.
If you haven’t listened to Streetlight, give them a chance. Incredibly unique music that is sorta the ultimate evolution of jazz/rock fusion plus elements of punk and reggae. Just truly one-of-a-kind intricate music that also is incredibly catchy.
Pierce the Veil is one of those bands that’s just heads and shoulders more creative than nearly every other contemporary artist of their era. The way they mix chicano, metal, punk, emo, and thrash elements is really fascinating. Their “Selfish Machines” album is a masterpiece of genre-bending. Absurdly intricate yet still catchy.
Sum 41 is remarkable for their ability to grow and change, balance two completely contrasting styles, and yet never abandon their core fans. You’ve got the silly pop punk stuff of All Killer No Filler and the more 80’s thrash metal inspired Chuck. Their second to last album Order in Decline is one of the best metal albums I’ve heard in the last 10 years. If you like Metallica or similar bands, check this album out.

For sure. I’m not a metal guy, or even hard rock fan. But I go see Tool every time they come to town. Amazing band

I feel like Aerosmith is always underrated in lists like these. I’m honestly surprised that they are even on it.

Heart should be nowhere near a list of anything good.

Same with Van Halen. Eddie on a guitarist or rock star list, not the band.
You can't be serious? Van Halen is one of the greatest rock bands of all time. DLR is also on of the best frontmen of all time.

I agree with him.
Good guitarist, but a really shi++y group.

Personally I'd break out and add Ozzy's solos stuff and Eric Clapton solos work and dump Oasis and Radiohead.
