They're Wings to Nirvana's Beatles. But Dave Grohl seems like a legit good guy, they've done some solid tunes over the years and they're always down to do something cool like this on TV. (He guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel on Halloween dressed up like David Letterman and ended up doing a mash-up of of Snowman/Enter Sandman with Kristen Bell)
