You’re a drummer too, aren’t you? Seems like we’ve commented in a few of the drum-related threads on the MB.

Yup yup.

Agreed. You guys will have a better spot than us tonight. We’re in Sec. 105 on Pat’s side. We knew we’d want seats though, after standing for 5 hours last night.

Yeah I know I'm gonna regret it tomorrow but screw it.

My son's only 3, so it's a bit strange to have a guy saying "we're going to play till they f***ing kick us off the stage". An 11 year old has heard it and knows better. I have to worry about the 3 year old going to daycare and repeating "are you having a f***ing good time out there" to his teacher, Haha. But again....I'm the one who brought a 3 year old there. Hes been to more concerts than most and we put headphones on to mute the sound (this was louder than the average show, no doubt). I would take him again in a heart beat. Just have to focus on him not repeating the stuff. Again, not a foo fighters fanboy, but he got to see a member of one of the most influential bands of my generation and saw a fun show. He got a guitar pick too. Everyone loves the kid at a rock show, Haha. especially when he was rocking his Beastie Boys T-shirt.

We just got back. Loved it. Kind of sad this is only the third concert I’ve ever been too. Gonna try to get my 11y/o out to more. Yeah I can see the language being an issue for a 3 y/o. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Dave didn’t teach my 11 y/o any new terms new tonight. Put on a show though.

I didn't think they'd be able to top last night's Dallas show. They may have done that. What a fricking concert.

Mrs. Oswald and I thought the same thing. They seemed like they were all in much better moods than last night; better vibe for us. Helluva show and my god The Struts are good too.

Agreed. They were great last night but tonight was just different. There was a kid on his dad's shoulders like 10 feet from us. Pat was just grinning and waving at him the entire damn show

And while he was good last night, my GOD Taylor ripped that kit a new a-hole tonight. I don't know how he does it. He's gotta weigh like 100 lbs wringing wet yet he hits so damn hard and never slows down. He's a machine.

The ONLY problem I had with the show was some a-hole that looked to be the product of incest wearing an Iron Maiden shirt standing in front of us. He kept moving back and bumping into me then turning around and acting like I was inconveniencing him. His date ended up griping about something or another and they left after Rope so it wasn't too bad. Otherwise that was a damn good crowd tonight. WAY more folks than I expected.

Yeah like I said earlier I wasn't a huge fan of their stuff that we listened to but they really stand out live. Dude has some serious pipes and that duet with T Hawk on Under Pressure was GREAT. I told my buddy he reminds me of Freddy Mercury mixed with Ben Stiller's character from that movie Heavyweights. At least in terms of stage presence.

ETA: I liked the extended playlist tonight too. Big Me and Generator? Yes please. Generator is one of my favorite songs of theirs. I also realized just how old I am tonight when Dave said, "We'll play some stuff off the 3rd album tonight....it's 20 fricking years old"

The Woodlands show last week was amazing. I've seen them several times over the past 20 years, and their live shows are still fantastic.

That was my first time seeing them live. They put on a HELL of a show. Out of the 20 or so bands I have seen, they are in a league of their own. I didn't realize how good of a guitar player Chris Shiflett is

I thought the lead singer for the struts might have a sex change on stage. That shite was brutal.

Chris is damn good. His solo stuff is good as well. Kinda laid back and has a bit of a dwight yoakam feel.

I have no idea how they do it like they do 4-5 nights a week. You definitely get your money's worth.

I was thinking that too. They had like 3 Texas shows and the S-Port show in what, 5 or 6 days? Add in travel. I was worn out and I didn't even do anything.

Anybody see them in 2007 at HOB Nola? Best show I've been to probably, and I've been to a bunch.

That’s the cool thing. They act like they played for so long because they are off for a couple days. They didn’t. They do it every night. They obviously enjoy it or they wouldn’t do it. If I was as good at anything as they are at putting on a show, I’d want to do it all the time too.

Yes, that show was awesome! Especially fun being in such a small venue.

This. All of this. Most of his strokes are singles, too, which just makes it more jaw-dropping...except for the proper press roll when Dave shotgunned that can of Coors. Man-crush OFF [ON]

Believe it or not, I think that mouth-breather was behind me in line at the gate. Long stringy brown hair, beady eyes a little bit too close together. There were quite a few similar specimens last night. Like extras from "The Hills Have Eyes"...

Hell. Yes. The album vibe is too...I dunno...friendly? Those songs live, though. The tone that guitar player had was

I swear I said the same damn thing to my wife. If the Freddie Mercury biopic ever gets back on track, they need to grab this guy and use him as a double, or "studio tracking" scenes, or whatever. The dude is the closest thing I've seen to Freddie reincarnated...

That was my first FF concert. I saw them again there in November 2014 for the Sonic Highways thing. As good as the first HOB show was, that one was even better.
