Sounds like a great show, but I'm sure the tickets will be so over-the-top expensive that it won't be worth going to.

I'm guessing most tickets will go to VIPs and will be difficult to get for the general public. They will want a lot of publicity for the grand opening.

"Tickets start at $269.50 and go on sale Oct. 12."

LOL wut. No f'n way.

If LiveNation tries to sell super high tickets for the majority of shows they book there, they'll have a tough time filling out 2,000-2,200 tickets per show.

This was the one of the Civic's early problems as well, but they straightened that out.

I doubt they'll have many stadium acts booked at the Filmore. Foo Fighters grossed over $6 million at Wrigley Field and over $13 million at Wembley this summer. Two nights at the Filmore, with about 4,400 tickets sold at $270, would "only" bring in about $1.2 million. Probably under $2 million even with reserved VIP seats. I'm sure they wanted a big splash opening, but I suspect we'll get a stream of acts we might otherwise see at the Saenger or maybe lakefront.

The Detroit Fillmore has Simple Minds, Social Distortion, Elvis Costello and Echo and the Bunnymen coming up in the next few weeks, for example.

Yeah I don't think someone like the Foo Fighters will be the typical act there

I’m so sick of these new fad brass bans

Why can’t we go back to the old days when people played guitars

Thanks... brah. I am talking overpricing in general.

Foo-level not for every show? No way! Sad.

I saw the Foo Fighters at the House of Blues a couple of years ago and tickets were less than $50.

And that was a very special, super hard to get ticket. They played a $20 show at HOB while they were on their Sonic Highways tour filming for HBO. There was a lottery to get tickets. Not the same thing as the Fillmore show.

Yeah. I didn’t get tickets till a hour before the show. Apparently some people who had tickets reserved couldn’t use them and they released them to the public. Called a couple of my friends and we all got tickets. Also saw them at Preservation Hall a couple months prior to that. I’m not a huge Foo Fighters fan but was in the right spot at the right time both of those nights.

Tickets sold out in under 5 minutes in this morning's presale. I timed out because of a glitch with the credit card (thanks Ticketmaster - gotta love them)!

ETA-We were eventually able to get two, but it would not allow the stated maximum of 4 when I got back in.

I wonder how many of these tickets will be comped, probably a lot. Makes it even harder to get them, with the number shrunk so bad
