Please tell me this chart doesn't show Miley Cyrus having more vocal range than Aretha Franklin? Please tell me I'm too dumb to correctly read the data. Of course just because you have the vocal range, than certainly doesn't mean you know how to use it.

My guess is because she has such an expansive lower register so it really opens her range up.

I wouldn't worry about this chart much. It omits the famously broad ranged Brad Delp (RIP). F#2 - D6. It obviously ignores things like "clarity" or "sustained notes in the octave" - but purely considers frequency analysis.

Pretty sure nobody would complain if she did porn. It's her music that is shitty.

So Eminem has more range than Steve Perry?

And this list is invalid unless Joan Baez is at the top of it.

Plenty of pop type singers I don't give a shite about. But some notable females whose voice makes me reach for the radio dial immediately are: Reba McEntire, Tammy Whine-ette, Katie Perry, That whore from Sugarland, Wanda Jackson.

Not that anyone actually listens to them anymore, but Macy Gray and that Fantasia girl from American Idol.
