Wow - no JW added to the list after a nice breakdown of why your ticket price point is fine ? You either don’t know who I am or you are aware I won’t there anyway

I meant to ask you if you were going to be in BR... I thought about it, but have to go to a wedding in Indianapolis tomorrow. Is Smitty CB?

$70 with a 1,000 ticket limit is overpriced??

Yes.

Think of how most concerts are priced right now.

You still haven't addressed the fact that this is a FESTIVAL and not just some "concert". I won't attack you on here, but your "logic" is lacking. Think of the money it takes to plan/run an event like this. The pay towards the headliners, and paying workers etc.

It's just shitty to me to make these completely uneducated statements about people TRYING to put on something cool in BR. While you shite on the idea. /rant

When I point out that “festivals” have comparable prices for significantly more prestiges lineups, you blast me because it’s not like those festivals.

When I point out that the price is high compared to other concerts, you blast me because it’s a festival and not a concert.

You accuse me of being ignorant when I have literally organized talent for multiple festivals in the past. I know how hard it is, which is why I gave up on doing it despite it being something that I love. The satisfaction I felt from witnessing the collection of random talent I had assembled is still a moment I look back on fondly considering how successful some of those bands became in the years that followed.

I’m not hating on the idea. Just because a restaurant has great food I can’t afford doesn’t mean I think it’s a bad restaurant. I would love to eat at Ruth’s Chris for a good steak. The fact that I actually eat steak at Texas Roadhouse isn’t because I’m “trashing” Ruth’s. I can’t afford Ruth’s, and I’m really treating myself by “splurging” on Texas Roadhouse which is less than half the price.

My opinion is the lineup is very good, but $70 is a little steep for that lineup in this market. That’s not saying it won’t be a fantastic event, just not one that I can afford to attend. I don’t have football season tickets. I often run lights or work as a stage hand, or merchandiser, at venues so I don’t have to pay a cover. $70 is more than I paid to see just about every concert or single day festivals I have ever attended. Based on the responses here, I guess that’s a me problem.

I wish the organizers all of the luck and success possible so that they can continue putting on great events like this one. I’m not a hater, just broke. I really want to be wrong. I hope the event sells out and it’s a great time.

I had one in the past in New Orleans with The Hitchhiker, Alabaster Stag, Ship of Fools, and Catbamboo among others. Catbamboo ended up blowing up after, touring Japan multiple times, and selling out venues all over the U.S.

The talent of the local bands there was rediculous. Promoter ended up making off with what little money we made. Was a big learning experience for me, a lot of sleepless nights putting it together. I still organize a lot of shows every year, just no more festivals.

Dude. You have a law degree. You need to lose that woe is me poor attitude or you will never see it happen for you. I pray that you find something that both pleases you and brings you success. You seem to have knowledge about a bunch of stuff.

I hope nothing but the best for you.

Funny, I just ask members of the hitchhiker about this festival and they said that he never played a festival with those bands

He’s definitely wrong, wasn’t in the band at the time, or misremembering. Why would I lie about something like that? I’ve played like 3 shows with them over the years, mostly back around 2016-2018.

Everybody I heard was good, but Duane Betts was fantastic. Some of the best music I’ve heard played

Duane was great. He looks and sounds just like his daddy. Love the psychedelic Allman Brothers sound.

The NMAS still put on a great show. Luther is just a savant on guitar. When Duane jammed with them, it was the highlight of the night.

Good times and a great festival. Can’t wait for next year.
