SXSW is a lot of work, but really rewarding. A lot of free shows during the day, but it requires standing in the right lines and knowing where stuff is. It's a week that really rewards planning as well as spontaneity.
And then Bill Murray pours you a shot of tequila before you realize, holy crap, the bartender is Bill Murray.

SX's great. The energy in this city during those few weeks is just amazing.

Wakarusa is the only camping festival i've been too and it's awesome.
ACL, Hangout and Jazzfest (in that order) are all fun.
Festival International in Lafayette is getting bigger and better acts every year and it's free so you can't really beat that.
I wanna hit Governor's Ball, Burning Man, Coachella and Sonic Bloom at some point as well.

Rothbury '08 was the most fun I've had at a fest by far. Amazing lineup, weather, venue, drugs, the whole 9 yards.
It's some electronic bullshite now, but the venue itself with the forest is still supposed to be pretty awesome
Bonnaroo and Wakarusa were pretty fun, but hot as shite, and Roo is pretty commercial and getting shittier every year
I'd love to go to Coachella some time, been wanting to go for years.
I'm sure so of those small super hetty tier 2 and 3 jam band festivals are all fun, but all those noodle bands are all kind of the same to me

Please elaborate.
