Never thought of this as a category, but I'm thinking it's got a few entries that stay pretty much under the radar. Interesting nonetheless.
What is your fave "dark comedy" song?
Here's mine... a clever and entertaining rendition of an old Cole Porter piece, c.1934: Miss Otis Regrets

John Prine had a bunch of these (if I'm understanding the topic), this is one of them:
Please Don't Bury Me

This seems fun, but I do not know how to define this.

Seems to me that most Warren Zevon songs would fit this category. "Excitable Boy", "Roland, the Headless Thompson Gunner", "Carmelita", "My Ride's Here", "My Shite's Fricked Up"

Here's another one that might help define the category. Making light of macabre events or people in a musical/lyrical way....

Knoxville Girl by Jim and Jesse.
Bashed her head with a rock, but he still loved her.

Nick Lowe - Marie Provost
Since that one has already been mentioned, I’ll go old school and post this classic from the 1960s:
Jimmy Cross - “I Want My Baby Back”
Back when Pearl Jam covered “Last Kiss”, I hoped against hope that Stone Temple Pilots would respond with “I Want My Baby Back”. Sadly, it was not to be. A lost opportunity, to be sure

I'll add Your Flag Decal Won't Get You into Heaven Anymore
Lots more. That's what I really love about the first decades of Prine's career; he did it with humor rather than anger.
