My favorite by far was the new Orange Goblin album, 'Science, Not Fiction'. Their best release since A Eulogy For The Damned, hands down.
A close second was Tab Benoit's new album I Hear Thunder. Just awesome from beginning to end.
The new Billy Strings is hella legit.
Just got the new Father John Misty. Can't wait to listen to it

2nd Grade reminds me of GBV. Really cool record.
This is Lorelei, to me, is like Alex G meets Wilco. Great listen.

I’m loving both.
GBV was my first thought when listening to 2nd Grade. A 23 song, 38 minute album with song titles like “Crybaby Semiconductor”, “Ice Cream Social Acid Test” and “Jingle Jangle Nuclear Meltdown” might be too on the nose for GBV even.
My first thought when listening to This is Lorelei was the Magnetic Fields (probably because Sterogum blurb put that in my head), but Alex G is probably an even better comparison. “I’m All fricked Up” is a great track.

In no particular order.. and I already know I am totally blanking on a few that will come to me later..
Waxahatchee - Tigers Blood
MJ Lenderman - Manning Fireworks
Mary Timony - Untame the Tiger
Shellac - To All Trains
Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee
Jessica Pratt - Here in the Pitch
Honorable Mention:
The Hard Quartet - S/T
Of Intrigue:
2nd Grade - Scheduled Explosions (I like what Ive heard, but since it's only released on cassette.. it's likely I'll never listen enough to truly rate it one way or the other)
