This is a good one. I first saw them opening for Morphine who also belongs on the list. (RIP Mark Sandman.)

Nice one!

They wrote the world’s fastest song. Do you remember the title?

Seriously, though, if you never saw Morphine live then you really missed out. They were amazing.

Unfortunately I missed them. I really love their sound and got hooked by “you look like rain”.

Cure for Pain is a very solid record.

Morphine shows were unique. Sandman was a poet and they had tons of great lyrics. And every show was different. And they didn’t do encores. They just stayed on stage. And when Mark said that they were at the end of the show, they’d keep playing for another 45 minutes, and he’d keep saying that they were almost done. His dry humor was awesome and there was such a cool vibe at those shows. There are a lot of good bootlegs out there. They also have an official bootleg that they released of a show in Detroit in 1994.

We lost Sandman way too soon. That guy was a genius. All their albums are great. Also, both Morphine and MMW are on the soundtrack to the film Get Shorty.

Gonna try and find some bootlegs. I’ll also checkout Get Shorty soundtrack. I like Combustication by MMW but it’s been a while since I’ve listened.
