Band invites anyone from audience who can sing lyrics to Tom Sayer. One dude steps up and does pretty good.

I really hate it when "Band invites anyone from audience who can sing/play" a certain song. I didn't pay $100 to see some chode get up on stage and play with the band.

Oh for the love of God. These are once in a lifetime opportunities for these people. Who cares. It's one song. It's fun. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Enjoy the other 25 flipping songs the FF play that night.

that was pretty good if you ask me.

For that person, yes. For me, after buying an expensive ticket, it's cringe-inducing and boner-reducing. It's also extremely contrived on the band's part.

What's it like to be so miserable?

Sorry if I'm not thrilled by cheap gimmicks.

I was in Toronto a few weeks ago. I have never seen so many Rush t shirts.

I'm with SUB on this. I also hate it when bands don't sing the chorus or a signature line of a song and point the mike out to the audience to sing it instead. Right, because the crowd have pitch-perfect singing voices? No. It sounds like shite. Do your job and sing the damn song.

I dunno. Metallica's Seek and Destroy is pretty cool

Went and saw Pixies a few years back, when Where Is My Mind came on, Black Francis sang just enough off beat so the audience couldn't sing along. It was glorious.

Relieved others get it. One big arena band masking as punk rock image obsessed gimmick.

I wouldn't say I can't stand them, but they have never really interested me in any way. Pretty much the standard for adult contemporary rock today.
