Blood on the Tracks
I cannot imagine any top 3 list of mine without this album, and I cannot even say I am a huge Dylan fan. It's that good.

Well, this thread did it. I'm a 50 yr old guy that's never sat down to specifically listen to Bob Dylan.

Going to change that right now.

How's that going?

His writing and the time. Think about when he came up and who he latched on to….. Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, a country changing fast, the political climate, war, and he could write songs the talked to kids and young adults. Who in today’s music falls into what Dylan did in the 60s?

A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall

Sounds like fluff written by someone with extreme ADD and good observational skills.

I just don't get wrapped up in songs like this I guess. I don't appreciate like I should maybe.

great song writer. terrible singer. weird looking guy with a terrible beard.

Pretty much nailed it.

I respect him as a songwriter, he's just not my cup of tea.

And IMO, Paul, Billy Joel, Don Henley, James Taylor and the late, great Brian Wilson were/all better songwriters.

He’s one of the bests lyricists ever, even though his lyrics may be a little obscure
and rely heavily on metaphor and symbolism.
His melodies and song structure are intriguing and exciting.

Hard to define him. I love him, but I have friends who know music and I respect their choices, but don’t give him any respect. Sure his voice is an acquired taste. Just hard to put my finger on what it is I love. What are yalls opinions on him.

He's a poet story teller.

Bob Dylan was the singer who ultimately convinced Jimi Hendrix that he could be more than a guitar player and start singing his own songs.

We don’t deserve Dylan. We are unworthy.
