b/c you are a kid, i grew up with that shite and rap in this time period is trash compared to them. People in there late 20's to early 30's still can remember the day those guys were killed.

early Jay Z

goes back to almost the biggie and pac era so what are you talking about

If you like it, then isn't it "real" and "good" to you?

Why do you apply other people's standards, or what they like, to your choice of music?

if i'm listening to rap, it's to be entertained, not social commentary or deep metaphors. i do occasionally listen to the previously named artists, but much less so than 2 chainz, kid cudi, chief keef, juicy j and three 6 mafia, TI, gucci mane, etc.

Me too. If you want good lyrics listen to rock music.

You are what is wrong with music today. It's because of people like you that allow fricking Chief Keef to release absolute low grade, zero production value unoriginal shite while some one like Joey Bada$$ still hasn't fricking signed with a major label.

I'm sorry, the fact Chief Keef released an album before Jay Electronica after like a still ongoing 7 year wait just sort of makes me mad. Their's nothing wrong with you and you have the right to listen to whatever music you well please. I just fricking hate Chief Keef. Though oddly enough I do sorta like Trinidad James.

But seriously,

I don't either. But I think it has to do with my age and the fact that I didn't listen to those guys growing up.

Yeah, I can relate. I like artists from both of the groups that the OP mentioned.

If I want to get hyped up, I'm going with Gucci Mane and T.I.

If I'm going on a road trip, I'll take Immortal Technique and Tupac.

It really just depends on how I'm feeling at the time.
