IIRC, he's been playing with some other bands, including Modest Mouse.

He did a while back. He's put out a few albums on his own in the past couple of years, both are great. He's definitely one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.

Love The Queen is Dead - one of my all-time favorites. "There is a Light That Never Goes Out" had to be one of the biggest make-out songs of the mid -80s. If that song was about to play, get ready or get out bc somebody was about to make a move...

Always considered them underappreciated. Like others have said, the music holds up well. I still listen to,

Cemetry Gates
Boy With a Thorn in His Side
There Is a Light
Sheila Take a Bow
Stop Me If You Think...
Girlfriend In a Coma
Panic

Morrissey sounds like one of those pretentious emo dudes who sings with a fake English accent haha.

(Disclaimer: I know he is English. )

(Disclaimer 2: I like the Smiths.)

That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore is one of the greatest songs ever written.

I don't think I've given that a proper listen. Never comes up on Sirius.

Just brilliant lyrics.

quote:

Park the car at the side of the road
You should know
Time's tide will smother you
And I will too

When you laugh about people
Who feel so very lonely
Their only desire is to die
Well, I'm afraid
It doesn't make me smile

I wish I could laugh
But that joke isn't funny anymore
It's too close to home
And it's too near the bone
It's too close to home
And it's too near the bone
More than you'll ever know

Kick them when they fall down
Kick them when they fall down

It was dark as I drove the point home
And on cold leather seats
Well, it suddenly struck me
I just might die with a smile on my face, after all

I've seen this happen in other people's lives
And now it's happening in mine

I'm surprised Meat is Murder isn't getting any love in this thread. What a fantastic album...

The Headmaster Ritual - one of my all time favorites from these guys

I Want The One I Can't Have

That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore - a masterpiece

How Soon is Now - one of the greatest songs by any artist of all time. That wall of sound!!

Barbarism Begins at Home - Marr just tears it up in this one.
