Total thread of failure. I've been reading this tread for four days and it's the Deaftones?

It's not about who was booked, I just think watching this thread for the last few days turned out to be a huge let down (at least for me).
I'm not into the deftones are that whole type of music, so unless it was gonna turn out to be a really good indie rock/experimental band it was gonna be a let down (again at least to me)

you should have specified the genre of music in the op, but i'm not sure if you allowed to do that based on you and your buddy's agreement.

Definitively not my cup of tea... I couldn't tell you if they draw 100 people or a 1000... Never met anyone who listened to them..

From the reaction, sounds like it will do well...

This is huge for the Varsity. But I probably won't go.

So you're disappointed because you aren't into them?

What bands do you want to see live?

Good job Doc, you overhyped another band.

This show was great. Chino was in full on diva form; crowd surfing, singing on his knees, and begging the fans in the balcony for a shot of Patron. If you've been to the Electric Factory, then you understand the seating/standing room rules of the house. If you don't get there early and you aren't seven feet tall, you're going to have a hard time seeing anything. Overall the show was fantastic, the setlist was full of the classics that everyone was singing along to and the new songs fit in just fine with the Deftones' feel and mood. Passenger was chilling to hear live and the rapid fire "Bored, Root, 7 Words" encore was powerful and unforgettable. If you haven't even seen the Deftones, you don't understand what you are missing.

Yeah, they are a huge band and great get for THE VARSITY

It's the smallest venue on their tour and they have a brand new record

it's a step into the right direction

This will be one of the best shows this year. If you haven't seen them, you are missing out my friends. Possibly one of the most energetic bands I've seen.

In no particular order:
1. Tv on the Radio (missed them last time they played down here)
2. Bloc Party
3. The Editors
4. Mars Volta (saw omars solo project, and cedric came out and sang the whole time, and they did some new mars volta material, but i'd like to see the whole band.)
5. At the Drive-in (if they're still doing the reunion stuff. saw them the last time they played in nola, one of the best bands i've seen live)
6. The Killers
7. Drive by Truckers
9. Arcade Fire
10. Les Savy Fav (would prob be a better fit for the spanish moon)

The list could go on and on.

Meh... That's about all I have to say about that. Great for their fans, but I don't think its all that special.

Again, I don't think they are any larger for the Varsity than Shinedown was.
