I don't think Maiden has played New Orleans since the Powerslave tour. I'm heading down to Austin to see them next month at the new Moody Center arena next door to the UT football stadium. Can't wait.

Yep it was the Seventh Son tour. I was there front row on the rail. I still have a guitar pick from Dave Murray.

Close but off by a few years. That really is crazy. Way too long.

Exactly where I was for the Slavery show at Lakefront. In fact it’s also exactly where I was for the Slavery show three days earlier in Biloxi as well.

Damn those were the days. Get to the arena super early, wait with anticipation for the doors to open, then the mad dash for the rail. So damn much fun.

Frehley’s Comet opened that night. Ace was so damn drunk he could hardly stand up. He was dumping beer all over us…

We had WASP. Blackie and his crotch saw lol. In Biloxi in the afternoon a good while before the doors opened Randy Piper was inside wandering around the corridor. Someone tapped on the glass and he walked over and opened the door to chat. Pretty sure he was high as hell haha. Of course someone asked him where Blackie was and he just mumbled in a deep voice “Ohh he’s sleepin on the bus.” Seemed like he had to think about it.

WASP is one band I regret never being able to see. I still listen to a lot of their old stuff. The Crimson Idol is a great album. They are still kicking around in Europe with a huge following, but never come to the states.

WASP(Blackie & 3 hired guns) are touring the US this fall. The Dallas date is on the same night as LSU-Bama at Amplified Live with Michael Schenker Group & Armored Saint.

WASP, MSG and Armored Saint. Nice! That’s a show I’d like to see.

I had no idea. You have a link to a tour schedule?

I quit being lazy and found it
